The Bi-vocational and Smaller Church Ministries Director

(Associational Director)

Bi-vocational and Smaller Church Ministries herein referred to as: BSCM
Bi-vocational and Smaller Church herein referred to as: BSC

Position to be filled by a bi-vocational minister working closely with the Director of Missions.

FUNCTION
- Lead in planning, promoting, conducting, and evaluating associational BSCM work.
DUTIES
- 01. Serve on the associational council/team.
- 02. Work with the Director of Missions, and/or the associational moderator
- 03. Identify BSCM needs. Plans projects or events to meet those needs,
  seeking ways to accommodate time limitations of Bi-vocational Pastors.
- 04. Provide services, resources, conferences/retreats to assist and encourage BSCM
- 05. Develop/strengthen/direct BSCM in the association
- 06. Promote state, regional, and national conferences for BSCM
- 07. Report associational BSCM work to the association and to the state BSCM director.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES WITH EXPANDED ORGANIZATION:
- 01. Serve as chairperson of associational BSCM council/team.
- 02. Affirm BSCM in local association
- 03. Encourage BSC to elect lay members to Associational Executive Board.
- 04. Encourage occasional evening Pastors' Conferences and Board Meetings.
  - Then make every effort to get Bivo’s to attend.
- 05. Work with the DOM in planning periodic Bi-vocational ministers and wives fellowships.
- 06. Affirm Bi-vocationalism during Annual Associational meeting
- 07. Work with associational office in maintaining current data on BSC
  - Update Bi-vocational Pastors information every quarter and forward to state director
  - Promote Bi-vocational Pastors to indicate Bi-vocational Status on Annual Church Profile
  - Forward this data to State BSC Director.
- 08. Serve as liaison with Louisiana Baptist BSCM Department Director.
- 09. Work toward understanding and appreciation of Bi-vocationalism in all churches in the association.
- 10. Encourage attendance at Regional, State and National BSCM Conferences.
- 11. Encourage the use of bi-vocational ministers on associational committees.
- 12. Help get worthy stories into the Louisiana Bi-vocational Newsletter and Baptist Message.
- 13. Promote Bi-vocational Pastor’s wives fellowship by providing training and encouragement
