BIVO'S helping BIVO'S
- A much talked about Help Ministry, "Bivo's Helping Bivo's" is underway ! Sepember 2004 was to be the official presentation date; but, many bivo's led their churches to participate before that date.
- The greatest defeat that most Bivo's share is not having a place to go to for assistance that is specificially for Bivocational Pastors. The concept of Bivo's Helping Bivo's is just what the name implies. With over 1200 churches considered Smaller Churches in our Louisiana Baptist Convention of only 1621 total churches, there is no reason why we Smaller Church pastors can't help each other.
- If only 500 of the 1200 + Smaller Churches participate by placing this ministry in their budgets at the rate of $20.00 per month or $240.00 per year, $120,000.00 would be available per year.
- We are approaching an average of 2 forced terminations per month in the LBC now. What if we could assist those pastors and their family in that horrible transition ? What about family medical needs ? What about joining labor ranks and help with a building program.
- The State has been divided into 8 Bivocational / Smaller Church regions, with a Regional Bivocational / Smaller Church Ministry Consultant in each region. Those 8 Bivocational pastors will oversee the distribution of funds and other resources. This will give representation for each area of our state.
