Art Groomes is a pastoral ministry specialist at LifeWay Church Resources, a division of LifeWay Christian Resources in Nashville, Tennessee. He works with pastors in diagnosing ministry functions and recommending ministry solutions. He also coordinates resource orientations for pastors, conducts local and national training events for pastors and ministry leaders, and assists associations and state conventions in developing ministry strategies for target audiences. Previously, he was a Sunday School/FAITH consultant in the Sunday School/FAITH Ministry department.

Art is a military veteran from the United States Air Force. Early in his military career, Art had a life changing experience. Following that experience, he answered the call to vocational ministry. Throughout his career, Art served as a jet engine technician, master instructor, and as a bivocational pastor.

Prior to his employment at LifeWay, Art planted two churches, served as a church planting consultant, Sunday School Innovator, and Discipleship Training consultant for the Florida Baptist convention.

Before accepting the call to relocate to Nashville, Art served as pastor of Family of God Baptist church, initially as a bivocational pastor before becoming fully-funded.

Groomes has an AA degree from Gulf Coast Community college and a bachelor of science from Florida State University. He presently serves as bivocational pastor of The First Family Baptist church in Antioch, Tennessee. He and his wife Cindi have two adult daughters and two grandsons.
