PASTOR'S CORNER
MARKSVILLE BAPTIST CHURCH
January 10, 2008

Glory to God . . . we are turning the corner. Did you notice the MUSIC Sunday ? It sounded like a 1000 people singing and praising our LORD. I started to not even preach, just bask in the wonderful music and let God anoint us with HIS Spirit.

Isn't it wonderful to come into the house to the Lord and feel that we are "ALL" there to worship ?

Wednesday evening was our regular monthly business meeting and it went over-time; but, all said and done, much was accomplished in my opinion. A feature event was a report from the Deacons on matters discussed between them and the newly elected "Transitional Pastor". This report will be a monthly report at the regular scheduled business meeting.

One highlight of the business meeting was church approval to bring Rev. Michael McCain to our church to share the drama "Michael" with our community.

Michael and Lynn McCain have been serving the Lord for the past 23 years and were called into the ministry in 1987. Michael attended MTI Bible College in Baker in 1988-89. In 1990 the McCains were sent out as missionaries from Bethany World Prayer Center, under the direction of Pastor Larry Stockstill, where they served until September, 1995. Upon their return to the States, Michael felt the call to continue in a traveling ministry here in the US and abroad, performing "Michael" and performing Gospel Concerts wherever they are invited. Lynn also speaks at Ladies' Meetings and Retreats. Michael & Lynn travel overseas yearly and remain in contact with Pastors and Ministries based in Germany, Austria, and other European & Central Asian countries. They are presently serving under Dino Rizzo, Pastor of Healing Place Church in Baton Rouge, La., and are part of the Leadership Team there.

Michael and Lynn are the parents of Adam, who is a Youth Pastor and Youth Conference Speaker, living in Dallas, Texas. They are also proud grandparents. I am proud to announce that Michael has been booked to be at Marksville Baptist Church on February 17, 2008

Let me challenge you all to start telling our friends about this very special event, it's about an hour time frame with wonderful music and of course, Michael, a neighbor of Joseph who tells about watching "JESUS" as a little boy and ends with the crucifixion & resurrection. This drama has been done all over the world in many countries and we are privileged to have it here in our church.

I will be at Longleaf Baptist Church Sunday Morning to help a smaller church through the death of their pastor and their quest for God's man to fill the pulpit. I will be back in Marksville Sunday evening and will be preaching from 1 Thessalonians 1:1 titled: "Standing Where The Fire Has Been".

We will begin "One Spirit / One Mind" Outreach planning next week, but, let me challenge you to invite your friends to church this Sunday. Bro. Ernie will fill the pulpit Sunday Morning and I know they will hear the word preached.

I have so much more to share, but, I didn't get home till 9:30 pm tonight and have to get started early tomorrow. I will continue this e-Newsletter soon. Help me get the word out that to receive the "Pastor's Corner" I need an e-mail address to send it to. Hopefully we will have a snail mail edition soon for those that don't have an e-mail.

Let's all remember Bro. Ron's statement:

My last challenge, encourage someone . . .

Jesus said to pray for your enemies
With your help, we are going to go past "GOOD" all the way to "GREAT".
